INFORMATION has been received from the MILITARY AUTHORITIES that GUN PRACTICE will be carried out froni Stonecutters' Island on the 9th and 11th instant, in a South-Westorly direction at ranges from 600 to 2,000 yards, on the 9th inst., and from 600 to 4,000 yards, on the 11th inst., and from Lyemun Sub-District (Sywan and Pakshawan Batteries) on the 12th inst., in the direction of the entrance to Junk Bay at ranges from 800 to 4,000 yards.
If the weather is unfavourable on either of the above dates, Practice will take place on the 14th March.
Practice will commence at 9 a.m. on the 9th and 11th, and at 9,30 a.m. on the 12th, and end at 11 a.m. daily, if the range is clear.

The O. & 0. Co.'s 8.8. Gaelic, with mails &c., from San Francisco to the 10th February via Honolulu, has arrived at Yokohama. and left for this port on the morning of 2nd March via Inland Sea, Kobe, Nagasaki and Shanghai. The P. M. S. S. Co.'s s.s. China, with mails, &o., left San Francisco for this port via Honolulu, Yokohama, Inland Sea. Kobe, Nagasaki and Shanghai, on the 26th February.
The C. P. F. Co.'s 8.a. Empress of China left Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon, the 23rd February, for Hongkong, via the usual Ports of Call.
