The College building has been completed in a substantial insuner and the prospects are that this department has a future of great usefulness. The College Prospectus recently issued has been presented to un and received our endorsement,

Recent inspection shows the hospital buildings to be olean and-in a good state of repair. No large expenditure for their up- keep is anticipated for the coming year. The new water supply has been completed and is a great boon to the hospital.

An exceptional opportunity occurred to purchase a shop adjoining the East side of the premises at an unusually low figure and as ntore room is needed for the growing work of the Hospital your committee have made the purchase and placed the item of expenditure in the current account for the

year.

Improvements in the sanitary condition of the hospital, as well as enlargement of equipment have helped to make the work as a whole more efficient.

We recommend the following estimates

for the year 1904 :-

On motion, this report was accepted and approved and the estimates as presented for the current year, authorized.

The report of the Society's College or- ganization Committee was then prosented, which is as follows:-

The principal work of your committee during the past year has been to secure funds for the College building now com-- pleted, and we are happy to say, paid for.

In response to many inquiries made by the Chinese a prospectus has been issued setting forth the proposed work of the institution, its requirements, and its needs."

More funds are needed in order to deve lop this work and we trust those interested in establishing the College will not fail to do all they can to carry the work to com- pletion.

A change in the treasurership of the organization committee just at this time makes a detailed account of receipts aud expenditures impracticable, but we submit herewith an abstract of the, College accounts showing the approximate state of our finances. It is as follows:-

On motion, this report was accepted and the Committee continued.. The Committee were congratulated on the work they had accomplished and the fine appearance of the College building in which the Society now met.

On motion of Rev. H, V. Noyes, D.D., the following resolutions in regard to the death of Hon. Charles. Soymour were adopted. Resolved:-) That we have learned with deop regret, sinos our last meeting and at the advanced age of more than eighty years, of the Hon. Charles Seymour, formerly United States Cunsul at Canton, and for many years a Vice- President of the Medical Missionary Socioty,

(2) That we desire to place on record our recognition of the valuable services which he rendered to this Society, by the personal interest he took in its welfare, by his efforts to awaken a like interest on the part of others, by securing, year by year, liberal donations for its support, and by frequently prosiding at its meetings.

(3) That we express our high apprecia tion of his character as a man-one of nature's noblemen-dispensing a generous hospitality in his own home; so genial that his presence was always welcome at social gatherings; such an able speaker that he was ever in demand on public occasions; of such sterling integrity in official life and such honesty of purpose that his country- men all felt that their interests were safe in his hands; of such high moral principle that he won the esteem of all, not only of the foreign community but of the Chincao, and his example continually an influence for good. Though he has been absent for years we cherish his memory still.

A cargo boat was lying in Yaurnati Bay, on board of which were the master, his mother and son.
