Fighting in South-West Africa,·

November 7.-The Gormans at Fort Warnihad made a gallant resistance to the bitter end against the Bondelzwarts tribe, but were overpowered by overwhelming Dumbera, The Bottentots numbered 500 fighting moo. The garrison at Keçiman- chop has been attacked. German S inforcements have left Windhoek, the capit al of South-west Africa, for the beleaguered garrison.

The Hottentots have murdered many German storekeepers in outlying districts of Geraian South-west Africa, and have massacred the members of the police post at Caibis.

The cause of the outbreak among the Bondulzwarta tribe was a demand on the part of the German astirities for the sur. render of arras, with a view to registration. Lieutenant Jebat, in parleying over the matter with a chicly lost his tempet, and shot the man dead.

The Commonwealth Picture. Nov. 6-King Edward has fuspected Mr Tom Roberts completed picture of the opening of the commonwealth Parliament. His Majesty paid a half-hour's visit for the purpose, and oxpressed pleasure with the work, and particularly with the introduc tion of Sir Henry Parkes portrait.
