to the narrowness of the present

deep water channel across the Wong Direct from Outer Bar, the following additions and alterations will be made to the Aids to Navigation on or about the 15th instant.
A Red Light will be exhibited from a White Polo surmounted by a circular shape erected on Princes' Wharf which will when kept in line with Woosung tho Lighthouse, lead midway between Lismore Wreck Light-boat and the 12-foot contour of the Woosu g Spit, this being the line of dopest water, The two lights in line will bear S. 76° 33′ W.
The Woosung Light remains White from the bank of the Yangtze to the N.W.-word of the Lighthouse to S. 29° W.
It will be altered to Green from
S.
22 W. to S. 64° 50′ W. and to Red from
S. 64 50 W. to the left (or Western) bank of the Woosung River.
The Fort Buoy will be shifted 550 feet S. 27 20 W. from its present position, and from it the Woosung Lighthouse will bear S. 87 46 W., distant 5 3 cables; and be moored in 14 feet at Low Water of Spring Tides.
A 10 foot conica' Buoy, painted in Red and Black Vertical Stripes, and surmounted by a Black spherical cago, will be moored in 18 feat at Low Water of Spring Tides on the North-eastern edge of the Woosung Spit, and from it the Woosung Lighthouso | will bear S. 62' 15 W.. distant 10.1 cables. The least water at present on the line between the Outer End of Princes' Wharf and the position in which the 10-foot buoy is to be placed on the North-eastern edge of the Woosung Spit should not be less than 10 feet; and on the eastern edge of the Green sector, not less than 11 feet at Low Water of Spring Tides.
