More Earthquakes in the Persian Gulf.

Bombay, November 1.-A Bunder Ab bas correspondent says that after an inter val of nearly two months there has been a repetition of the earthquake shocks.

On this occasion they occurred in the early hours of the morning, thereby causing no little commotion, but no damage was done as the shocks were not severe,

The town is now quite full. Everything To the more wears a normal appearance. timid the earthquake has not lost all its terrors, for the Persian Zadkiels foretell the most dreadful calamities, including earthquakes, during the month of Rama-

zan.

It is reported that in the Island of Kishm shocks of earthquakes are of frequent ⚫ccurrence, the disturbances taking place almost every day.

Kishm, like Bunder Abbas, is also full of people. The houses are in ruins and the

Turko-Italian Amenities in the Red Sea.

Bombay, November 1.---The Aden corre spondent of the Times of India relates a rather curious story of the troubles between the Turks and the Italian warships at Hodeida.

Two Italian warships arrived off the part and asked, with a hint of using active measures, for the recovery of the property looted by the Arabs from the pearl divers at the Port of Dahlak, which is under the Italian Governinent.

They served a notice that the Turkish Authorities must pay sixty thousand dollars, or the port would be bombarded within twentyfour hours,

The Turks pleaded for time to find the rubbers, and two days were allowed, but the agent of the Italian Consul lowered his flag and went aboard the warships.

This action caused a scare in the town, which was not diminished by the warships refusing to allow a Turkish gunboat in the port to leave, even firing shots across her bows to stop her doing so.

Finally a British warship arrived with the Italian Consul, who opened his office again..

The Vali of Sana sont an order to the Hodeida authorities saying-Bu ready for Action. Do not fire at them before they commenco to fire at you. Secure and pro- tect the town as well as you can. Try your utmost not to let them land.'

According to this instruction the Treasury and the Courts at Hecida removed to a distance outside of the town, together with the Custom-house officials and the telegraph

office.

Eventually, however, a settlement was arrived at. Hodeida was not bonbarded, two Turkish officers going aboard the war- ships to help in the search for the robbers.
