Proposed Extension to Japan.
As before stated (says the Kobe Crente of the 13th inst.), the failure of the cant phor monopoly in Formosa in supposed to be caused by the unexpected inorcaso in the production of the staple in the interior of Japan, with the result that the markets in Japan and abroad have been consideraly affected, quotations having fallen to between yon 77 and yon 78 par picul.
