"PORT ARTHUR LIGHTHOUSE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Part Arthur Light was re-established and is character changed on the 29th October, 1897.

The illowiunting apparatus is now of the Sixth Order, Dioptric, occulting, showing a fixed light varied by two sclipäoz avery 20 seconds, thus :-

14 Seconds.

The Light shows white between N. 13* E. and N. 66 W.; red inshore of N.. 19 B. and between N. 65° W. and N. 81" W., and white between N, 81′ W. and S. 10 W,

The bearings are magnetic and from Beaward

The

Light is alerated 87 fest above the level of the sea, and in dear weather the red light should be visible at a distance of 15 nautical miles, and the White light at 8 bautical miles, where nos elacured by the land.

The light-building, which is 7 feet high and painted white, stands loss to the enstern side of the old lighthouse, which is painted in white and black horizontal" bands

The Keepers' daailing and the boundary wall are white.
