THE MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF A
CHINESE BOATMAN,
Mr H. E. Wodehouse, at the Magistracy this morning, renamed his inquiry into the circumstances auder which Lina Wa Po, a bostman in the employ of the Chiasso Maritime Coatnus, me his death on the let August. It was stated originally that the men fell into the water at Capauimoon and was druwaad. Afterwards, the evidence Di Cantlin, who spoke to the mutilation of the body, rained an element of mystery, and the inquiry was adjourned to allow other evidence to be called.

De Marques stated-I assisted Dr Canilie in the post mortem examination on the 8th Angust. The body we examined had been dead about a week. Judging from the tooth it was the body of a young man.
What in your opinion was the cause of death --Back.
Why ?-Bacause of the injuries we found on the body.
Were there no appearances to indicate death from abuck-Yos; there was a deep incised wound on the leg and the body was mutilated. I would say that the man dind shortly after taking his food. There was no water in the stomach,
Death could not possibly be caused by denwasng-It might have been caused by shock while the man was struggling in the water-szortion-but he was a sicong man and that is not likely to have been the
Cause.
