Hastings at the Magistracy this morning on a charge of stealing a bolt of canvas from that stenicer, and a hawker was charged with receiving the stolen property. It appeared from the tidence that efter her collision with the Amigo, orders were given that some stares to admit should be taken from the forecastle to an inspection being made upon the interior of the bows of the steamer. It was then the canvas was stolen. Both prisoners were sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour.
