SURVEY of s section of the Boathom Antrance to the Yangtze, extending about 17 miles outwards from the Small Kiutaan Benton, which was completed on. the dih instant, proves that the Middle Ground, shown on the British Admiralty Chart, No. 1602, corrected to May 1888, has extended bodily in a north-easterly directe de distance varying front, & to

of a mile, and in a north westerly direc 10

or about 2 miles; while to the south- eastward it has joined with the flats ex tending from the south-western shore of

the tirer.

Notice is hereby given, therefore, that, on or about the 4th January, 1892, the fol lowing changes will be made, to suit the alterations that have taken place in the obarmal.

The Lightship Kinivan will be shifted 24 cables to the N. 571 E. of her present position where she will be about Smiles N. 684 E from the Kiulan Deacon.

The Middle Ground Lover Buoy will be shifted to a spot from which Honas Island Surveying Beacon beers N. 11 W. distant about 3 miles. This buoy in its new position will mark the scnth-western er post side of the channel entering. It will he painted black and surmounted with a black spherical cage.

The Middle Ground Upper Busy will be shifted to s spot from which Kintoan Bea- con bears 8. 12 W, distant about 25 miler where it will mark the port side of the channel entering, and the north-western end the
