THE TENANTS DEFENCE LELOUE.

London, July 14-The Irish Tenants Defence Longue Committeo hua formulated a programme of peaceedings which is to be aubmitted to the general coprostion at Dublin. It has been decided to make the new movement so general as to include and displace all previous and existing methods of agitation which have had any counten nue at all from responsible persona.

This it le concluded is the wisest course, and most likely to unite all patriotic and law- abiding Irishmen in one great union of

action.

The entire tonaatry of Ireland and meta- bers of the National League are to be con- fadarated in the Tenants' Leagio.. A gen- eral fund is to be raised to defray the cont of legal resistance to evictions for non- payment of reat, the subject of non-pay ment to be set forth and debated in a man- nor which any possibly prove something of Brorelation, even to many friends of hone rula who condemn Irish tenants always for their rental troubica. Conjoined with this plan or operation, which is attributed Mr O'Brien, is a scheune chiedy to which originated with Mr Davitt for the general expropriation of landlords.

These plans have been anbrsitted to the judgment of Gladstone, Morley and Sir G. O. Trevelyan, and their tacit consent to them has been obtained. In other words, the great Liberal leader and his most calm and judicious allies approve the new TS- ment entirely, so far as it has been de veloped, but will take no direct part in it until such time as they speak or act as English Liberals and statesmen, and so carry greater weight with them then if they had hurriedly entered the fight now simply as partisans in the cause of Ireland,
