The November-December number of the Chinz Reviere contains lesz vatiety than usual, but the few articles are very interes ting. The opening paper by Mr Herbert A. Gies on The New Testament in Chi- nese "treats of a question that must neces sarily be of great importance in the eyes of all missionaries Parker'a Short Journage in Sochten" are cutinnal, and a goodly instalment of those travels in the interior of China is given. Mr F. H. Balfour contributes a paper of some longth entitled "The E- puror Cheng, founder of the Chinese Em- piro," which will be read with genuine interest by students of Chinese history, adhered to, except under unavoidable cir- A few short notions of Now Books and a cumstances. In case of stress of weather, number of Notes and Queries, una of which I den netice will be given of kay stoppages.
