It in cludes many interesting Naton and original Papers on the Arts, Sciences, Ethnology, Folklore, Geography, History, Literaturo, Blythology, Natural History, Antiquities, and Social Manuers and Chestout, etc., etc., of China, Japan, Mongolia, Tilut, and the Far East gaterally. Recently now de- parture has been taken, and the Retiro now gives paperz on Tende, Commuros, and Doscriptive notes of Travel by well-known writers. 14 was thought that by extending the scope of the lenses in this direction, the Magazine would be mademore generally useful.

The Review department receives special attention, and endeavours are made to prosent a carefal and concise record of Literature on Chin etc., and to give critiques embodying sketches of the Most Authors and recent works on such topica.
