A KISS IN A CANOE.

The maiden sat in a light canoe, Alost on a mountain lako;

And a mat idea shot wildly through The brain of her lover (who eat thore too),

That he, in that solf-anie light canoe,

A stofon king would take.”

Now the maiden sat there,

war

Of the plot that he had hatched; And the mountain breeze played with her

hair,

And fauned her cheek and her brow so fair,

As she sat thoro still, quite unaware

Of the kiss soon to be watched.

Then the lover awaited a raal good chance,

To capture the longed-for kiss,

When, watching the wimpling waveleta

dance,

She turned her head with a quick shy

glance, And, lomning back, she gave him a chance

That was really too good to miss.

So ho bent to meet her, and tried to steal

That kiss that he tormed to get,

But he bont so quick in his ardžení zeal That the craft opeet like a whirling wheel, And he missed the kish that he tried ti

steal.

FOR CONSTIPATION, SLUGGISH LIVER, &c.,

NLIKE many kinds of cathartic medicines, do not make you feel

worse before you feel hester. Their speration is gentle, but thorough, and unattended with disagreeable effects, such as nansea, griping paius, &c.

Seigel's Operating Pills are the best family physio that has ever been discovered. They cleanse the bowels from all irritating substances, and leave there in a healthy condition.

The best remedy extant for the bane of our lives-constipation and sluggish liver.

These Pills prevent fovers and all kinds of sickness, by removing all poisonous matter from the bowels. They operate briskly, yet wildly, with- out any pain,

If you take a severe cold, and are threatened with a fever, with pains in the head, back, and limbs, one or two doses of Seigel's Operating Pills will break up the cold and prevent the fever.

A couted tongue, with a brackish mste, is cause by foul matter in the stomach. A few duses of Saigel's Operating Pills will cleanse the stomach, remove the bad iste, and re- store the appetite, and with it bring good health.

Oftentimes disease, or partially de- cayed food, causes sickness, nausea and diarrhoea. If the bowels are cleansep from this impurity with a dose of Seigel's Operating Pills, these dis- ugrecable effects will vanish, and good health will result.
