Original contributions in Chinese, Latin, or any of the Modern Languages aro - ike ceived. The papers are contributed by members of the various Consular, the Im perial Customs, and Hongkong Services, and also by the Missionary bodies amongst whom a high degree of Chiness scholarship is assiduously cultivated.

Amongst the regular contributors are Drs. Chalmers, Litel, Bretschneider, and Hirth, Professut Logge, and Messrs Balfour, Watters, Stent,

MacIntyre, Groot, Jamieson, Faber,

Kopach, Parker, Playfair, Giles, Piton, and Taylor-all well-known names, indicative of sound scholarship and thorough mastery of their subject.
