AN Indian orciss officer named Maruil was to-day sentenced to six months, hard l- bour by MrWodehouse, in the Police Court, for stabbing another Indian excise officer with a pen-knife in the side. The two men, it appeared, had had a quarrel, when Marail in a fit of passion made use of the knife. The instrument, fortunately, was too small to be vary dangerous, zind- the wound inflicted was not a serious one.
