This may arka somewhat ofearer the fol- lowing account of the excitumens, which we are told, has existed for some time strong Policiale in the north. The story goot that as the Printe stood watching the cloud-cap- ped towers in the air he saw wonderful forma of unearthly beauty and majesty, moving among them and standing in 10- verential attitudes. The Prince applied to a forsign councillor and friend, who accom-cepted in transit through Marseilles for the panied him and who, with the readiness which Western knowledge furnished hini, at once replied that they were Soa Fairies (this being the nearest foreign words to the Cargo will be received on board until 4 Chitose terms) who had left their magust p. Specis and Parels until 3 p.m. on abolse to pay their bongo to the Failor | the 6th July, 1897. ↑ (Pareola aru not of the Rupee of China, and through him to to be sunt on bourd, they must be fast at the Hwang-si, the Son of Haven, the Sacred the Agony's Office.) Sovereign The Prines was naturally, pleased, and his satisfaction became grostor when the Fonigner offered further explana tious as to the manners and customs of the Sea Fairies, and their exclusiveness, and explained that in the whole history of the world no intance of the Sea Fairies coming into the upper air for the purpose of wor- ahip had been recorded. Turning to R.E. Li Hung-alang the Prince asked if this was 20. The Viceroy of Chilli and the Sonior Guardian of the Throne promptly corrober- ated all that the foreigner had asid of Sea Fairies, and especially his historical facts, To any that the Prince was gratified is brit faintly to decribe the mingled fuelings of ancestral, dynastic and personal pride, and the humility with which the occasion and the obeisances of the abmarine good people, filled him. Eto relived to his cabin to meditate, and did so, wish the happy ro- aults which the readers of his poomis late admired.
