Mr Northey, who arrived here yesterday, by the Thales, had sent his boy in a campan with a part of his luggage, including a large portion of his clothes, and it appears that on the aampan touching the wharf of the Douglas Steamship Company, Yush of coolies was made on the sampan, and in their endeavours to get hold of the packages they turned over the boat, pitching the goods into the water.
LORD Charles Beresford, whose utterances with regard to the British Navy have re- cently attracted considerable and deserved attention, had, just immediately alter the last English mail left home, givet notics of motion in the House of Commons calling attention to the large number of antique vessels in the Navy, and poin scarce of danger which they would inevit ahly prove in timo of war.
