SHIPPING REPORTS. The British steamer Greyhound reporta Sailed from Pakhoi on this 3rd inst, had light wind and fine weather to Hoihow. Two French war vessels were laying outside of Pakhoi searching all vessels bound in Loft Hoihow on 5th inst, had moderate N.E. winds with fine weather to Masno.. easily obtained. Objections have been raised against this tax on the ground that the native labouring class would be burdened by its imposition. This, how- ever, is more imaginary than real, as the license could be ao levied upon the various kinds of diluted Sanshu es scarcely to be felt by the well-paid coo- le class. It is quite certain that the small impost necessary for raising a proportion of the sum named, from foreign epirits, would hardly be felt by the European community. There questions, however, of the Lean and and the Spirit Farm, seem to have met with the fate which is so common with official projects in these days, ther done soon, also the necessary public die of neglect.
