Every whoro as far as the eye can reach, the country is exered with trees. Every house is surrounded with a grove and the orchards are Jadoti with fruit. A pleasant run of an hour and we reach Salt Lake City. Located as it is, remote from the canter of civilization, it has a civilization of its own. Every convenience which the most favored city in the United States pos- sosses can be found in it. Everybody is busy, industry being one of the greatest virtues of those peoplo

Ono cause of the antipathy of the Mormon to the Gentile is the fast that tho young women take to the Gontilen with such warmth that the Mormons naturelly feel jealous, for they see thoir flocks almost abandoning them, and they use the most watchful care to guard their girls against the latiuence of the non-believers.
