[OTICE is hereby giventhat the LIGHTON the SOUTH-EAST SHANTUNG PROMON- TORY was exhibited for the first time at sunset on the 28th ultima

The illuminating apparatus is Revolving Dioptrie of the First Order, showing While Anskes at half minute intervals.

The Lighthouse stands on the south- eastern olour of the island known as the South-eart

PAR Promontory, and the Light, hich is elevated 904 feet above the lovel of the sea, should be visible in clear weather at a distance of 15 nautical miles.

The tower is round, of iron, 50 feet high, with a total height from its bass to the tantern vane of 773 Sept.

The tower is painted in red and white horizontal bands, the keepers' dwellings and the boundary wall are white.

Approximate position :—–

Latitude 30° 54′ 00′′ N, Longitude.....................122 31 45′ E. Foo SIGNAL

A First-clase Siren, giving a blast of about 4 secrinde, duration at intervale of 13 minutes, will be sounded during thick of foggy wontier.

CAUTION.

Itegarding the island which forms the Southeast Promontory, the China Sea Directory, Vol. III., 1874, p. 463, states chat:Extensive reafe, some detached, border the whole aboru, which is of the most dangerous character and should not be passed at tess than a mile, except off the western bluff, nor in less than 0 fathoms water."
