In the following Statements and Tables the Rates are given in cents, and are, for Lotters per half, for Books and Patterns, per luca annars.
Newspapers over four oucos in weight are charged as doable, treble, Nex, as the caso rasy be, but such papers or packets of impera inay be sent at Book Rate. Two Newspapers must not be folded together as one, nor must anything whaleer be inserted excel bona fide Supplements Printed matter may, however, he enclosed, if the whole ba paid at Bock Rate. Prices Cur rent may be paid either as Newspapers or Books.
Commercial Papers signify such papers as, though Written by Hand; do not bour the character of an actual or personal corre pondence, such as invoices, deeds, copied music, &c. Tho charge on them is the same as for books, but, whatever the weight of a packet containing any partially written

1. The following cannot be transmitted: Parcels insufficiently packed or protected, or Hable to be crushed (as bandboxes, &c.) Opitan, Glass, Liquids, Explosive sub stances, Blatches, Indigo, Dyestuffs, Ice, Meat, Fish, Gamo, Fruit, Vegetables, or whatever is dangerous to the Mails, or likely to become offensive or injurious in transit
