The overcrowding of the Ching Town the west would gradually be remedie by the establishment of a regular and easy communication along the whole lins. And this opens a wider consideration as to the possibilities of a train-ear roadway further east and farther west... Indeed, although the town of Victoria cannot as yet boast of possessing lurge masses of population at either end of its irregular shoro line, there is every reason to believe that its increasing population must ultimately spread east- Bward; and it may be truly said that nothing is known that so powerfully shapes such a process of development as direct means of transport..
