The publication includes papers original and selected upon the Arts and Sciences, Ethnology, Folklore, Geography, History, Literature, Mythology, Blanners and Cus toms, Natural History, Raligion, &o, &c., of China, Japan, Mongolia, Tibet, the Eastern Archipelago and the "Far lust " generally, A more detailed list of subjecte upon which contributions are especially invited is incorporated with each number. Original contributions in Chinese, Latin, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Per- tuguese, are admissible. The Post Office is not legally responsible for th safe delivery of Registered corres pondence, but it is prepared to make good the contents of such correspondence lost while passing through the Post, to the extent of $10, in certain cases, provided
