AMOY RACES 1880. (Gazette.)
The Annual Sporta took place on the 8th, 9th and 10th instant and were in every way, a complete success. The first and second days were beautifully fine, but the third brought an unpleasant drizzling rain which somewhat interfered with the comfort of the jockeys and those exposed to the weather.
The arrangements as regards the Course, Grand Stand, and Tiffin accommodation, were admirably carried out. To the Clerk of the Coarse and those who assisted him much praise must be accorded. The band of the German Man-of-War Luise" discoursed obarming music throughout the three days, the indefatigable exertions of the musicians assisting materially to the success of the meeting.
