The silver ren of 416 grains troy, 900.00 standard fusness, is now declared to be a legal tender, at par value with the Mexican dollar, to all de partments of the Imperial Government. So far as the public is concerned the law will come into operation on the 19th instant, og and after which date all liabilities upon contracts providing for payment in Mexi can dollars may be liquidated in silver yen at par value with the dollar. The Oriental and Rongkong and Shanghat Banks have supported the Prime Minister's notification by a declaration of their readiness to accept silver yen at par, all existing obligations remaining as heretofore. Notifications to this effect will be found in the advertising columns. The best comment upon this notification is afforded by the fact that there are no silver yen to be obtained in Yokohama.
