The Drawings will take place in Hongko g in February and August in each year, and the Bonds so drawn will be paid off at par on the respective dates specified in annexed Schedule at the Offices of the Hongkong and Shanghal Banking Corporation, in flengkong (at current rate of Exchange for Demand Bill Shanghai) and Shanghal, after which dates interest on the Bonds so drawn will cease.

The Loan has been authorized by an Imperial Decree, dated 9th of October, 1878, The Loan, principal and interest, is specially secured by the hypothecation of the Imperial Maritime Customs Revenue of the ports of Shanghai, Fooohow, Canton, Ningpo and Hankow-the five Forts which have the largest Customs Revenue of the Empire--to the extent necessary for the due payment of interest and repayment of principal of the said Loan.

The special bypothecation of Custores Revenue to meet the charge of the present Lap is constituted by the deposit with the Hongkong and Shanghai banking Corpora tion of Customs Bouda, signed by the Viceroys and Governors of the respective Provinces in which the Ports referred to are situated, which Bonds will be held by the Bank in trust for the holders of this loan. These Customs Bonds will be received, in case of

need, in payment of Obluese Customs Dutc
