Ir may perhaps be interesting to note the number of steamers which run between this port, Amoy and Manila. There are the Esmeralda, Diamants, Emuy, Butuan, Maston, Pasig, Paragua, Leyte, Salvadora, Panay, and Cebu. The first two of these are English, and with the Emuy and Sala dora may be considered as regular traders; the others being only occasional The passenger traffic between China and Manila is very large, and the commerce is as a natural consequenes on the increase.
