OTICE Labereby given that a BEACON Nhas been erected on a small Pinnacle Rock called "SHIN SHI" (Idon Rock) Submerged 8 feet at H. W. Springs, situated near the anchorage at Wenchow about 600 feet 6. E, of the East end of the laland known as the Chiang-Hain-Sau, which is in the middle of the River oppo site the North Wall of the City.
The BEACON consists of a POLE,15 inches in diameter, painted Black and White Alternate Bands, on which is fixed & BALL, 6 foot in diameter, painted Black with a Horizontal White Band round the Centre.
The top of the Pole is 24 foot above H. W. Springs. The Centre of the Ball is 18 feet above H. W. Springs.
