Regina v. Tae Atsoi.
'ATTEMPTING TO, OBTAIN MONEY ON A FORGED
STATEMENT.
The prisoner was indicted for endeavour fug to obtain money on a forged order from one Hung Woo. Uboo, the master of vegetable Lan in the Central Market It appears that the prisoner was in the habit of selling vegetables to the Lan lo question, and the practice was at such times for the coolies or weighers to call out the weight, and description of vegetables, and the name of the seller. The eclier would then go to the accountant and get an order for the value of the vegetables, and on its being presented at a certain understood time, It would be paid. The prisoner taking ad- vantage of this practice forged several of these orders, and on his attempting to utter one of these which was only for a small amount, the forgery was detected.

IN SUMMARY JURISDICTION. (Before the Hon. J Russell)
Cross-examined by Mr Dennys:-The bill for the piano was made out in Kugelmann's name, and was taken to his house. The piano was taken to the performance and used; but I could not swear that it was not Mr Salzmann's piano, as I was running about all day, and ald not go near the hull.
