Hitherto it has been used almond and olive oils, in sulphuris ether, in rectified alcohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances; bat however valuable has been found in all the hitherto known methods of its preparation, certain irregular re- sults have been experienced, which have led

But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable action on the human systein may be realised without any of those drawbacks which previous modes of administration have invariably produced,
