If the Chinese Government could be induced to make a British dolar coined here a legal tender throughout China, and to prohibit chopping, a Mint here might in time become a vast and profitable establishment, and our cur renoy difficulties cease, but we are afraid nothing less than a second Yunnan difficulty would be likely to Impress upon the Chinese Government the de- drability of such a step.
