All these vessels are slowly filling up, as cargo is not at all plentiful, and freights, therefore, are a low last reported. The Hinglish steamship Humboldt, from Rio Janeire, has arrived here with on- ginos broken down, and will have to repair, The English steamship Criterion has been found drifting about, abandoned, in the vicinity of Horns reef, and perhaps will be taken into the Weser or the Elbe river. About the fate of her crew hitherto nothing is known; she is loaded with wood and planking from the Baltia.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION.

Lo Atim, a barber, who was brought up some time ago for having a black box, and some clothing in his possession, again ap peared to answer the charge. A Chinese Constable was looking out of a window at the West Point Station, when he observeil a number of men despoiling a black box up the hill side. He went towards them when they all ran away. The defendant was caught with a bundle of clothes in his pos BOSBLUN. The box was marked with the Chinese characters Wok-koo," while a black fan had the inscription of "Sz Woo." It was subsequently ascertained that the box belonged to a Okinawan who had gone to Amoy:

He contended that the discharge of ballast at Touron was caused by the delay of the plaintiff in not supplying cargo to fill the ship in time.
