Henry Dawson, Antonio Jensen, and Carl Rosson, seamen American ship C. W. Cochrane, were charged with desertion. The defendants raid they did not like the ship and were afraid to stop. They wanted their dischargo. The Magistrate referred them to the U. S. Consul, who replied that he had heard the men's complaint, but there was nothing lait. They said their work was too hard; they had not enough to eat, but the Captain had the reputation of being exceptionally kind to his crew. As the vessel was leaving to-day, the Cenon begged the Magistrate to order them back to their ship. This was scoordingly done.
