A rumour, of which two or three versions were current in the Settlement on Satur day, was brought by the. M.B. steamer Hiroshima Maru from Nagasaki One version was to the effoot that, on the day after the opening of the Kioto and Kobe railway by the Mikado, his Majesty's escort was attacked by Satsuma men, whose object seemed to bo to get possession of the person of the Mikado. In the milée that ensued the Prime Minister was killed. Another verson was that the person killed was the Prime Minister's scoretary, These rumours are said to have been telegaphed from Yokohama to Nagasaki after the Hiroshima Maru had proceeded on ber voyage from the former place. It will be remembered that we said in our last summary of Yoko hama news, that 60,000 Satsuma men were reported to be under arms; and the present telegram is further sald to state that 80,000 of these had broken out into actual re- bellion, determined to attempt the over- throw of the Government, unless the question of their pensions is satisfactorily settled.-N.
