Vossale near the Hongkong shore are marked ., near the Kowloong shore k, and thom in the body of the Shipping or midway between each shore are marked e, in conjunction with the figures denoting the sections. Choong poultry shop, Central Market, were *summoned by one Yik Achi, cook to Mr Hoekster, for an assault. The complainant went to the Market to buy fowle, when the 2nd defendant came up to him and seized him by the jacket. He wanted him to go into the shop to settle an old account. The 1st defendant seized the complainant by the throat and doalt out several blows to him. The complainant owed the shop one taol and nine mace but had paid $1 and an American half dollar. Fined $1 each.

There is little new to report respecting the grounding of the steamer Hohenstaufen, on the Centaur shoal. That she ran hard and fast aground is beyond depute, but strange to say her agents here, up to five o'clock last evening, had received no official information as to her position, and at that time there was B.general report that she was utili ashore, and little altered in hor position.
