The David Crockett has been in the California trade for a score of years, and without any disrespect, we may safely put her down as having the best average record for speed of any vessel afloat. A record of the inward trips to this port shows an average of 115 days for each trip. During most of the time she was in command of Captain John Burgess, who was washed overboard on the | Hongkong Bank, par. outward trip in 1874. Captain Anderson | UI.K. Fire Ins.
