Fortunately, Hongkong, February 29, 1876. however, Messrs Tsang and Woo's magna- nimity is expansive as the sea and as capa cious as the ocean, and they deal with people liberally; with that end in view, they therefore prefer, instead of puni- shing him, os be rightly deserves, to for. give him of the enormous crime of which has been guilty. Having ceased litigation now, they have no resent ment against any one, and by so doing, they cherish the friendly tie that exista amongst the Chinese clane. They have also shown that in doing this they are inflicting a lenient punishment for the sake of a great warning. They are indeed fully Austaining the benevolent principles of the great men, and for this set of thoirs, may the happiness (or good fortune) of Mesars Tsang and Woo never grow leas,
