THE EUROPEAN-CHINESE COL- LEGE AT PEKING. "THE Peking College, we hear, is a failure," says the News Latter in a racont igue. The information is scarcely new, but is to a certain extent valuable, from the fact of Itsappearing in a journal which has been decidedly favourable to the Hart Burlingame schemes, and therefore unlikely to exaggerate any incident which, directly or indirectly, shows their influence to be upon the wane. In his efforts to induce the Chinese to establisk the Peking College, we give Mr Hart full credit for goal and good intention.
