valid and appropriate Second Class Certificate of Competency For every First Class Engineer's Certificate if the applicant does not
hold a Second Class Certificate as above described.. For every Endorsement of First Class Engineer's Certificate, if the applicant previously held a Second Class Certificate appropriate to the endorsement desired
For every Endorsement of First Class Engineer's Certificate, if the applicant had not previously held a Second Class Certificate of this description
For every application for Certificate of Competency as Master For every application for Certificate of Competency as Mate The fee paid for examination for a certificate of competency includes the fee of one dollar for examination in the sight tests, and if the candidate fails to pass those tests, this fee will, with the exception of one dollar be returned to him.
If a candidate fails to pass any other part of the examination no part
of the fee will be returned to him.
Where a candidate for a certificate of competency is re-examined in the written or in the oral part of the examination only he will be required to pay in respect of such re-examination a fee of ten dollars.
Signalling :-
Where a candidate for a certificate for which signalling is re- quired takes the examination in signalling separately from the remainder of the examination, for each attempt
Sailing ship endorsements:—
Where a candidate is examined for a sailing ship endorsement at the same time as for a certificate of competency of the same or of higher grade
