SURVEY OF Steamships:—

(d) If, from unforeseen circumstances, the duty cannot be commenced at the hour stated on the form of application, or cannot be completed without interrup- tion, the time during which the Surveyors are kept waiting is to be charged for at half the usual overtime rate subject to the limit of ten hours for the whole service. (e) Time occupied in travelling between the shore and the ship is to be charged for at balf the usual overtime rate.

() As the tests of illumination of ship's sides, searchlights for ship's lifeboats and visibility of navigation lights can only be made satisfactorily after dark, therefore, necessarily out of office hours, only one-half the usual overtime rate is to be charged for such tests.

(9) Adjustment of compasses. The charge is at the rate of $10 per hour or part of an hour, with a minimum charge of $50 per ship

Attendance at Legal Proceedings.

21. If a Surveyor is served with a subponu, and is permitted by the Govern- ment to attend a Court of Law or Public Inquiry in his capacity as a Government Official, to give evidence or to make a statement, a fee of $50 per day is to be charged for the Surveyors attendance.

Redured fees of certain yachts.

22. The fees under this Part relevant to yachts of yacht clubs which appear in the Navy List are reduced by one-half under the Order made by the Governor in Council of the 19th day of July, 1928, and published in the Gazette of the 20th July, 1928.

Date of coming into force.

23. These regulations shall come into force on and after the 1st day of January, 1929.

TECHNICAL INSTITUTE CLASS FEES :-

A fee of $10 per term will be charged for euch subject, with the exception of First Aid, the fee for which is $2 per term or $1 to Technical Institute or Queen's College students, and the Veruncular Teachers' Classes, where the fee is $I. TIMBER SALES (INCLUDING FORESTRY PRODUCTS),
