GOVERNMENT HOUSES, 1930.

HOUSES OCCUPIED AS RESIDENCES BY THE GOVERNOR.

1. Government House, Albert Road, contains drawing room, dining room billiard room, Governor's office, Private Secretary's office, Aide-de-Camp's office, Custodian's office, conservatory, ante-rooms, card room, supper room and ballroom with roof garden, sitting room, maid's rooni, 8 bedrooms, dressing and bath rooms,

2. Kitchen block containing usual offices, servants quarters, etc.

3. Garage block containing garage, custodian's quarters. 2 guests rooms, laundry, etc.

4. Stable Block with accommodation for 5 horses.

The house is heated by coal fire and lighted by electricity, part of the cost of which is borne by the Governor.

There are about 5 acres of garden and pleasure grounds maintained by the Government. Furniture, including plate, linen, crockery, and glass, are supplied by the Colonial Govern- ment, the Governor paying 5 per cent. on a proportion in accordance with Colonial Regulations.

"Mountain Lodge", The Peak.-This is a hill residence occupied during the summer months.

It contains drawing room, boudoir, dining room, billiard room, Governor's office, waiting room, Private Secretary's office, 3 drying rooms, 7 bedrooms, dressing rooms, maid's room, andl 3 servants' rooms.

The house has central heating and hot water supply and is lighted by electricity, part of the cost of which is borne by the Government.

There is also an extensive Servants Block of 7 rooms including Kitchen, Laundry and Store Rooms in addition to Store Room, for Sedan chairs etc.

The grounds extend to about 43 acres of which about 24 acres are garden and pleasure grounds, maintained by the Government.

Furniture, including plate, linen, crockery, and glass, are supplied by the Colonial Govern- ment, the Governor paying 5 per cent. on a proportion in accordance with Colonial Regulations.
