Children under twelve years of age are charged at half the foregoing rates in each class,

Naval and Military patients will be charged in accordance with the scale for private patients".

Proprietary medicines or drugs not contained in the British Pharmacopoeia will be charged for if supplied by the Government.

Private patients, other than Government or Naval or Military patients, charged 1st or 2nd class daily rates for maintenance will be subject to the following additional charges :-

(1) For medical attendance, a charge at the rate of one third of the rate for

maintenance.

(2) For surgical operations, such charge not exceeding $300, as the Director of Medical and Sanitary Services shall think it having regard to the nature of the operation. This charge will be in addition to the above charge for medical attendance.

(3) For maternity cases, charges of $100 and $75 respectively, in lieu of the

above charge for medical attoudance.

Patients requiring a “Special " nurse, will pay an additional charge of$11. a day. The Director of Medical and Sanitary Services has discretionary power to waive the additional charges.

Private patients in Government Hospitals (other than the Peak Hospital and Maternity Wards at the Victoria Hospital) will be attended by Government Medical Officers.

If in the case of a private patient charged 1st or 2nd class daily rates the Consult- ing Physician, Surgeon or Obstetrician is called in, either at the request of the patient or by arrangement between the patient and the Medical Offeer, the amount of the courultant's fea shall be a matter for arrangement hetwood the patient and the

consultant.

Where nu oporation is perforinel by the Consulting Surgeon or Obstetrician nơ charge will be made by the Government in respect of the operation,

Certificates.-A charge of $5 is made for all cortificates in connection with the Stness or unfituose of patients or others to perform their duty and for invaliding certificates, and $10 for certificates required by insurance companies, etc.
