(1) See Remark (12) in J 37. (2) Mr. I. L. Roelia acted as Inspector of Janks from 1st January to 27th July, and drew half initial salary of Inspector of Junks and half initial salary plus all iucre- menta as 2nd Grade Assistant Inspector of Junks.

(8) Mr. M. Melver reverted to the salary of Iuspector of

Janks (2270) as from 28th July. He performed part of Assistant Harbour Master's duties throughout the year and drew a Special Allowance of $1,200 from 28th July

to 31st December.

(4) Mr. C. Mathins acted as 2nd Grade Assistant Inspector of Junka from 1st to 12th January and drew half initial salary of that post and half initial salary plus all incre- ments as 3rd Grade Assistant Inspector of Junks.
