The Hongkong Tramway Company, Limited, shall pay to the Government
the following Royalties, that is to say :—
(a.) From 22nd September, 1914, for the period of twenty-five years, a Royalty amounting to five per cent, per annum of the profits of the Company.

(b.) After the said period of twenty-five years (22nd September, 1939)
has expired and for so long as the Company shall exercise their Section 47 of Ordinance said rights, powers and authorities a Royalty amounting to twenty-five per cent. per annum of the profits of the Company. For the purpose of this section profits shall be the gross takings of the Company less working expenses, and such working expenses shall not be deemed to include any interest or dividends upon any moneys borrowed for the purposes of the Company,
