There is a fair amount of Bath and Lavatory accom- modation, the waste pipes from which have recently beon re-arranged so as to discharge into opsn headla attuclied to a vertical waste pipo situnted outside the building and trapped at its foot.

Water-closets of the wash-out type provided with waste-preventing cisterns are used disconnected from the wards.
