Carter acted as Sanitary Surveyor from 1st January to 22nd November, the former drew $\frac{1}{2}$ and the latter drew $\frac{1}{2}$ of the conveyance allowance and they each drew $\frac{1}{2}$ of the initial pay of the Sanitary Surveyor in addition to their pay and allowances. Mr. A. Carter continued to perform the duties of Sanitary Surveyor up to 31st December, and drew pay $300 fully.
