Ventilation is very good all over ship and the cubic space allowed to each patient is there- Fore liberal. On emergency over 110 could be accommodated giv ing each 600 feet on upper deck and 900 on lower deck. During the summer months ventilation of the lower deck is not good owing to wins being light or absent.

This, of course, does not include the large air-space above the private wands and dispensary, passages, &c.

† Including sliding shutters above private wards,

In nildition to all there is an open space of 4 inches between the side and roof of ship all ronnil.
