(1) Conimander W, C. II. Hastings. R.N., neteil as Captain Superintendent of Police from the 1st January to the 3rd April, 1896, and Mr. H. 1. Lethbridge from 4th April to 6th October, rice Mr. May absent on leave, and respectively drew the lapsing half matury of the office. (2) Mr. Hadricy was appointed Acting Assistant Colonial Secretary on the 27th February and Mr. Corcoran acted as Deputy Super-
intendent of Police, and drew the lapsing half salary of the office for the remainder of the year.
