LEASED LANDS

Crown Rents on Lands leased for periods varying from 14 to 999 years.

LANDS OCCUPIED BY CHINESE VILLAGERS, SQUATTERS, &c., UNDER SQUATTERS' LICENCES ISSUED BY THE SURVEYOR GENERAL

  • Villagers and Squatters at Hongkong at $1 per annum for 150 Square Feet.
  • Ditto at Kowloon at $1 per annum for 300 Square Feet.
  • Cultivated Lands at Hongkong and Kowloon at 75 cents per annum per Mow (=733 Square Yards).

The leases are disposed of at Public Auction Sales, held in accordance with Notifications.

Piers and Wharves outside of the City of Victoria will be subject to payments calculated at one-half the above rates.

In all cases where permission is given by the Surveyor General to erect a pier over Crown Foreshore, and such pier is removed on or before the expiration of one calendar month from the date of granting such permission, the encroachment shall not be subject to Crown Rent.

Leased to the highest bidder by Tender for one year from 1st January to 31st December, 1890.
